I think that it's pointless to make such a task where's only 1 correct answer possible because there can be only one winner...

Well, I can`t agree with you. The point is that there can be only 1 winner  it is the point!

Than there's not much fun for others to watch someone taking all the prices :P
But i think that the fun we have is more important...

1st question
oki so ell had 30 apples wich she wated to seel  with 1 cr 2 apples. that means that one of her apple valued 1/2 cr.that means selling all apples she would had got 30*1/2 =15 cr.
u had 30 apples wich u wantes to sell with 3 apples for 2 cr . that measn that one of your apples values 2/3 cr. that means that after selling all apples u would had got 30*2/3=20 cr
after u puted  all apples togheter  u had 60 apples wich u wanted to sel with 5 apples for 3 cr . that emans that each apple would value 3/5 cr and after seling all aples u both would have got 60*3/5=36 cr.
Now where did that 1 extra cr came from ?
well if we make an averge between the value of ell's apples(1/2) and  u'rs apples (2/3) we get ((1/2)+(2/3))/2=7/12=0.58(3)(i have divede by 2 because u both had same amount of apples otherwise i would had applies ponderate average)
but this values that each appled should had after u put togheter all apples is diferent form that value u sold your apples with meaning 3/5=0.6. Now if we multiply the diference (0.6-0.5833333)*60=1.0000002 thus rezulting the extra cr.
So the extra cr apears as a esult of the proximation that was made between the average of the price/apple 0.583 and the actual price that the apples were sold for 0.6!!

2nd question:
oki so first mnerchant had 30 aples wich he sold with 2 apples for 1 cr that means that 1 of his apples valued 1/2 cr. after selling all apples he would had got 30*1/2=15 cr.
second merchant had also 30 apples wich he wanted to sell 3 apples for 1 cr. that emasn that one of his apples would value 1/3 cr. after selling all apples he should had 30*1/3=10 cr
after they put theyr apples togheter they had 60 apples wich they sold 5 apples for 2 cr .. that means that each apples valued 2/5 cr.
again after calcualting the average between initial values of apples ((1/2)+(1/3))/2=0.41(6) wich is slightly bigger 2/5=0.4 wich is the valued that the apples were actual sold.... so this means that togheter they merchants got less money on the apples if they would had sole the apples separately. so if we multiply thje diference between the initial price/apple and the acctual selling price/aplpe with the ammount of apples old we get
(0.416666-0.4)*60=0.0166666*60=0.9999996 almost 1 cr wich explains the diference

)The price of 1 apple :
Milady Winter's(forword M) 2/3 = 0.66666667 CR and Ellara's forword E) 1/2 = 0.5 CR
so avarage price for 1 apple when M and E dont sell apples together is
(0,66666667+ 0.5) / 2 = 0,58333333 CR
But when together it is 3/5 = 0.6
so 0.6 > 0.58333333 and its the reason why they get more when M and E sold apples together and this one Cr belongs to M because 1 apple price she offered is biger then E so 1 Cr belongs to M .
2) now now of sellers will be A and 2nd will be B :
So price for 1 apple :
A 1/2 = 0,5 CR B 1/3 = 0.33333333 CR
so avarage price for 1 apple when not sell together
(0,5 + 0.33333333) / 2 = 0.41666666 CR
and when they sell together avarage price for 1 apple is 0,4
0,4<0,41666666 >> thats the reason why they lost that 1 CR and B lost his CR because he's price of 1 apple was smaller then A . :wink:

"Sure, no!", the Devil said. "But there is one deal. Every time I`ll twice your money and after your walk through the bridge you will give me 24 credits."

Here is my answer :
In star Miladywinter (forword M) had X credits  after 1st she walked through the brige M had 2X - 24 credits after 2nd time  (2X-24) * 2 -24 and 3rd time ((2X-24)*2-24)*2-24
And after this 3rd time she had 0 so we can write
((2X-24)*2-24)*2-24=0 after all matematical moves we get  8X = 168  >> X= 21
So in start M had  21 credits

ecuations
a+a=b (a initial number of money; doubled 1st time)
b-24 + b-24= c (she gave 24 cr to devil and doubled the money.. 2nd time)
c-24 + c-24= d (d=24 because  she gave 24 to devil and remained with 0)

so d= 24 => c=36 => b=42 => a=21 (initial credit)

at first u had x money.
when i crosed first time u have 2x monwy from wich u gave to him 24 cr that makes 2x-24 cr before crossing the second time.
after crosing second time u had 2(2x-24) cr from wich u gave to him 24 cr .. that means u had before crossing 3rd time 2(2x-24)-24 cr
after crosing the 3rd time u had 2[2(2x-24)-24] from wich u gave him 24 cr that means that u were left wit 2[2(2x-24)-24]  -24 cr=0 by solving it we get to
2[2(2x-24)-24]  -24 =0
2(4x-48-24)-24=0
8x-144-24=0
x=168/8=21 cr

i just started at the end of the deal and calculated back through her
turns as she walked back through the bridge :)

24/2 = 12 + 24 = 36

36/2 = 18 + 24 = 42

42/2 = 21
