Common > Cripple manouver - Should it be banned?

  (31.08.08 13:27)

A long story short.
Should Cripple manouver be classified as illegal in our town?
The law and punishment could look like this:
cripple and you'll be chaosed for a week, cripple again and your chaosed for a month, cripple a third time and your horny for life.

Vote Yes for making it illegal
Vote No for leaving it as it is now.

If you want a longer reason to why I make this post - feel free to ask me if you dont already know.

Dear author, maybe you'll be so kind to explain why do you think that it should be banned. Do you think that it's a bug or harms gameplay? Maybe something else? I'd like to know the reason before voting, thanks ;)

With pleasure.
There are numerous of reasons to why I feel so strongly about this matter.

We have on a normal day 20-40 people online. Divided on numerous levels you can easilly count out that you dont got too many people to fight. With the updates, we got this new experience system, we get good exp the first time we fight an opponent, okey experience the second time, the third time its bad and fourth time it's worthless. After 4 fights vs the same opponent - you get 0 exp. When people injure eachother - we have less oponents to fight and therefor less experience which in it's turn makes people less willing to come online and therefor we have even less people than we had a few sentences ago.
Thats one aspect.
The other aspect is that people actually play this game as a break from reality. For instance - I have a free night (kids are sleeping and wife's working) I log on and decide to spend time among you fine people and develope my character.
I join a fight and some bright shining star uses cripple manouver on me. The fight ends and my team looses - I get a nice juicy injury for 24 hours. GREAT! I been online 15 minutes and I was gonna be here for another 5 hours but now I got an injury someone gave me on purpose so I might aswell go and do something else. We play this game since we think it's fun, who am I to take the fun away from someone else by crippeling him/her?
A third aspect why it's justified to prohibit that manouver is that people tend to take this game too seriously. Guildwars are fun, cool, great and numerous of other things - I support guildwars as it's part of the game but in such a small society as ours, guildwars tend to get personal - fair enough, thats up to each and single one of you. But when it gets personal - you do pretty much anything to get even, to hurt your nemesis in as painfull way as possible and we all know whats the worst thing that can happen here - to be prevented from playing.
The golden rule is something I usually mention when talking about things that involves relationships of any kind. Treat others like you wish others to treat you.

I'm sure I could go on and mention a couple more reasons to why you, and everyone else should vote Yes to making this a law but I'm sure you realize it already.

sry, But it's stupid. Ban also low blow and crazy luck.

  (31.08.08 14:51)

Low Blow and Crazy Luck aint injuring people ^^

  (31.08.08 15:13)

Banning anything is not a solution...BUT, there should be something to cancel that effect...some antidote, cure, dispell, call it however you want... i call it ballanced gameplay.. which is, obviously, missing here...

  (31.08.08 15:30)

I vote for Agreement of Fair Play (AFP). We can include this in it. Chaos for injuring sounds weird.

  (31.08.08 15:34)

muhaha, Agreement of Fair Play (AFP) sounds like The Geneva Conventions... everyone agreed with that, but actually, noone take it seriously...
But yea, we can give it a try...

  (31.08.08 15:34)

The punshments were just an example...
I chose those ones to make sure noone would be breaking any agreements we might have )
AFP sounds great, really does, but what if some people decide that "hey - I dont need to follow any agreements" just as good we have a clear line of zero tolerance from the beginning in my opinion.

In our city, it only makes troubles due to our population. When we say that, somebody says we re scared.(we = anybody who says stop cripple) But even these sounds, i ll go on to say what my heart says. So, you may forbid the cripple but can you prevent the hatred inside human's heart?!
I hope ... +1

We have enough game posibilities to injure such person as well. This will turn our "guild wars" in another way. Or atleast a guild sign won't be a reason to use cripple maneuver against someone. We defeated jackals already.

  (31.08.08 16:18)

You can find a poll about cripple on our page.

  (31.08.08 17:11)

BISKOT understanding that situation becomes critical, used maneuver "Cripple" at point dexter jr.

pathetic little lizard

  (01.09.08 00:48)

Ppl use Cripple on other ppl, those ppl need to heal=>spend money=>more money they spend, more ecr they buy=>it is good for administration :D =>this maneuver has his purpose   ;)

  (01.09.08 00:50)

p.s. i don't really give a shit

Jackals were defeated by the new system.
