About anything > XP or VISTA? And the debate begins... 

I was talking to a couple of people here about the XP/Vista frenzy and it seems that some people love the OS Windows Vista, but some can't gather the thought of even letting go of XP.

SO vote now and make a difference in someones world. :laugh:

Microsoft Windows 95 FTW! lmao... Nahh... i have Win Xp MCE SP2, it got no bugs, no unnecesary glitters and stuff like that.

People please leave the answers for these questions aswell as your Un-biased opinion :D

Debates? What for? The answer is clear like ice : at the moment it's XP.
1. Why? Because XP now is the best OS for regular users. It's tested for years and the most harmful places in security were patched (but not all).
2. XP works much faster.
3. Lot's of things, starting from unfriendly (alien's?) interface and finishing in technical problems (f.e. not all drivers/programs are working properly). Using Vista is annoying at it takes much more time to configure it just to use it without irritation.
4. Still Vista has some technical advantages. But all was done in a bad style and I can say that Vista is a half-finished OS. The same situation was with XP at first. Time will show. Maybe upcoming service packs will improve Vista...

You know what I'll give my opinion.

Okay so No.1?

Vista isn't user controlled, there are so many things that require Administration permission and in my opinion it starting to annoy me, more than ever.

No.2?

Not only is Vista faster and let's say more secure, XP is more user-based and therefore gives that extra smth smth.
Although some people admire the OS Vista, you can't operate simple programs and games in that matter for example and as many of you know, Lineage II is a pain in thy anus with Vista?

if you are not gaming geek with super ultra high-end pc, XP SP2 is cool.
i did not see anything, which would make me to get vista.

Unlike you others, I aint skilled in computers enough to back my statement up with any scientifical facts.

I got XP on my Laptop.
It works as it should, not too many errors. But not too exciting to use.
If I'd be to compare it with a car, I'd say that XP is like a Volvo. Safe and Secure - But boring and dull with a old design.

I got Vista on my Desktop.
Action :super:! Now this is more like it. Makes my time in front of the screen more enjoyable. Okey, I admit that I need to restart some of the programs more often than I do on the Laptop but I dont mind, besides, I got a different Antivirus program so I always thought it was because of that I had that program.
Compared to XP the interface kicks ass. The speed is not really compareable either, the Laptop is used for working/playing less requiring games. The Desktop is used for all other types of games and I havent had too many problems.
To Compare Vista with a car, I'd say that Vista is a Ferrari. Fast, Powerfull but hard to master.

Ps. I drive a Volvo so I'm entitled to diss it ;)

:yes: It's great that an old crappy system can be modified to look abit less crappier :D
