The most unfair UFC fight of the year!

It wasn't necessarily unfair, The Ice Man (mine and alot of ppl's favourite UFC fighter) got caught with a well timed, rehearsed and studied block counter-attack shot from one of greatest fighters that has ever been in the light heavy weight. Rampage. You know how Lidell fights: he almost looks like a big ape in the octegan with his long arms and low stance. He also tends to lead with the left strike/jab to create an opening for the BIG right which has managed to beat and knock out some the greatest UFC fighters over the past 3 years. Rampage's new training camp (which is a full time professional outfit of mix martial artists' studying fights and strategies for a living) would of made Rampage well aware and prepared for Lidell. On a different day, Lidell would of knocked Rampage out, even.

Ok., when i first saw the fight in real-time i thought the referee had stopped the fight too early, but on the slow motion reply The Ice Man was definitely knocked out and in dreamland; the ref managed to stop the fight before Rampage caused some serious damage. Even though Lidell is pretty much impossible to put to the ground and has been one of most prolific knock out specialists of all time, i dont see him coming back as a main contender ever again. His getting old (in his late 30's), his life style and fitness isn't what it used to be, plus he doesn't look as hungry, dangerously or scary as two years ago, and with the introduction of PRIDE fighters to UFC it means fights and fighter's are only gonna get tougher.

Sad to say, but bye bye Chuck 'THE ICE MAN' Lidell. :mol: I was so glad you beat Tito and your knock outs are legendary. Time to put your slippers on and pretend your deaf.

On a different note, what the hells been going on in the UFC resently. All the major contenders (or favourites) are getting beat? Is it the added competition that PRIDE is bringing to the sport? Or just the the sport has moved on to such a high level these days compared to UFC 1 that there are alot of tough guys out there now?
